Johanna works to broaden the understanding and access to physics, astronomy, planetary science and space instrumentation education and research through a variety of face-to-face and distance projects. She personally works with a number of primary and secondary schools as well as supporting the academics in her school to deliver effective and high-impact public engagement activities related to their research. Current large-scale projects include: educational resources linked to the robotic telescopes, based on the island of Tenerife, owned by the Open University, and a variety of citizen science experiments with educational resources linked to the EU ASTERICS project.
