Schools Partnerships

The Ogden Trust sponsors a number of Schools Science Partnerships across the UK. The senior school partnerships typically include schools, sixth-form colleges, FE colleges and university physics departments and provide a forum for collaborative enhancement activities for their pupils across all year groups and abilities. There are now also a growing number of primary partnerships, often centred around a Phiz Lab, nurturing and developing science learning and teaching from an earlier age.

The aims of Senior Schools Science Partnerships are:

  • To increase the number of students taking physics at GCSE, A-level and at university
  • To support teachers of physics and encourage more physics graduates to become teachers\

The aims of Primary Schools Science Partnerships are:

  • To raise the profile of, and improve pupils’ enjoyment, progress and attainment in primary science
  • To enhance teachers’ confidence in planning, teaching and assessment of primary science
  • To form collaborative partnerships facilitating the continued sharing of best practice

If you are interested in joining an existing partnership, view our map and partnerships directory to find out if there is one in your area and then contact the Partnership Co-ordinator directly at the Hub school via the contact details on the map.

All schools are welcome to refer to the Resources section of our website for ideas on activities that partnership schools are conducting which you may be able to carry out successfully in your own school.

Existing partnerships can find the bid and report templates in our downloads section
