If you are currently in receipt of a Sixth Form Science Scholarship, most of the administration of your scholarship is carried out between Jane Fidler, the Student Registrar at The Ogden Trust, and someone at your school, usually the bursar. The fees and any additional allowances will be paid directly to the school, not to individual students. It is rare for you to need to contact The Ogden Trust directly in relation to your award.
As well as the payment of a proportion of your school fees, you may be eligible for an additional allowance to cover the cost of school trips and/or transport to and from school. You should contact your school about this, not The Ogden Trust.
The Ogden Trust will contact your school for annual progress reports during the course of your scholarship. The continuation of your scholarship into your A2 year is dependent upon receipt of a satisfactory progress report.
Towards the end of your AS year, you will be invited to attend our annual A2 Physics Symposium, a residential high-level physics course held at either Durham or Cambridge University.
Towards the end of your scholarship, you will be sent an email to ask you to let the Trust know how you got on in your A-level exams and inform us of your future plans. Former Sixth Form Science scholars are eligible to apply for Undergraduate Science Scholarships if they continue to study physics at university. You will be sent information about how to apply for one of these or you can find out about them from the menu item on the left.
It is important that Sixth Form Science scholars keep their personal details up-to-date on the alumni database because they may be invited to events specially designed for them. Even if they do not continue to study physics beyond A-level, Sixth Form Science scholars remain members of the Alumni Association and the valuable benefits it can offer. They are also encouraged to follow the Trust on Facebook and twitter.
