Teach Physics 2018

If you are interested in applying for one of our highly-praised school internships, you have come to the right place!

You are eligible to apply for a Teach Physics internship if you meet the following criteria:

  • you are an undergraduate in your second year or above, AND
  • the degree you are studying for is in physics or a related subject (such as astronomy); engineers will also be considered
    OR
  • you are a postgraduate student (aged under-25) whose first degree is in physics or a related subject

One of the aims of the programme is to address the shortage of physics specialist teachers in the UK, so we are looking to provide experience to people who are most likely to remain in this country. As such, applicants should hold European passports, or have permanent residency in the UK, and intend to work in the UK after graduation.

Previously successful applicants may make a second application but, in the event of over demand, priority will be given to new candidates of a similar quality. No individual will be awarded more than two internships.

Potential applicants are advised to take a look at the reflective diaries of some of our previous interns, to get a feel for what to expect. They may also like to read the Teach Physics @ 7 review, published in November 2016.
