Teaching Physics

The Ogden Trust supports a number of initiatives, programmes, and projects, designed to promote the teaching and learning of physics. It offers financial support to individuals considering or embarking on a career as a physics teacher, and to projects that enhance physics education:

  • Teach Physics Internships are available to undergraduates, in their 2nd year and above, who are considering a physics teaching career
  • Scientist in School placements are available to postgraduates, PhD and post-doctoral students wishing to become physics teachers; a communications training course is also being trialled for early-career researchers
  • Ogden Educational Consultant James de Winter has created a useful guide about the availabe routes to becoming a physics teacher

All of the schemes are subject to availability and set criteria.
