The Gloucester NE Primary Partnership launched in 2017 with the Cheltenham Science Group Forensic Science Challenge; children played the roles of detectives and used their science enquiry skills to solve a mystery. Our Science Ambassadors will be running a Pulse rate experiment for the partnership, and the students will be learning that ‘Space Rocks’ when the schools share some borrowed Meteorite and Moon samples. We are planning a Partnership Science Fair – each school will hold a competition; the winning entries will be on show at the Fair which will be open to visiting pupils and parents. We will also be running subsidised trips to the Cheltenham Science Festival. Later in the year, ‘Jonathan’s Jungle’ will hopefully be visiting the partnership with some tropical animals to talk about changing climate; pupils will also be working on a soil comparison enquiry. As well as these activities for students, teacher CPD will be an important aspect of the partnership.
