Internship success

In 2016, Michael Entwistle undertook a Create Your Own Internship at the University of York. The work he was able to undertake built on his undergraduate research.

“This internship provided me with the opportunity to write a paper that has been submitted to Physical Review,” wrote Michael when he reported on his experiences at the end of his placement. “My Ogden internship enabled me to achieve some impressive further results which hopefully will be extended into my PhD.”

Now, Michael has started his PhD, his Report has been published and he has a first author credit to his name.

The Ogden Summer Internships scheme 2017 is now open for applications. If you are an Ogden alumni and have found your perfect summer project, funding may be available through the Ogden Create Your Own Internship scheme. The deadline for applications is Sunday 9 April: further information on the scheme and how to apply can be found on the alumni database.

There are also more than 60 advertised Ogden internships available from 28 organisations with placements including research, outreach, and work in the commercial sector. There are some fantastic placements on offer, all designed to provide valuable experience and insight into possible careers or study avenues. The full programme of internships available can be found on the alumni database, together with information about how to apply.

The deadline to apply for the Ogden advertised scheme is Sunday 12 March.
